I want to take a girl on a date and be all cute.
And have casual sex all summer and just be happy.
That’s my life. That’s all I want.
Come with me to pride. Hold my hand. show me off. Be proud to be with me. Kiss me in front of the protesters. Smile with me when someone tellls us we re beautiful together. Dance with me. Makeout with me. Most importantly be proud of me, love me and experience life with me.
There is something ridiculous about getting in front of 5,000 people or 200 people and having them sing a song with you, like they’re singing the lyrics, and they’re singing these songs passionately and you are connecting and you are in that moment. It’s like a group of people all going, “Uh huh, I totally understand what you’re saying. Yes. Me too.” And there’s something really powerful about that connection, and that is very addictive. I think that’s what Tegan and I have fed off of, is this idea that there is a parallel between us and the most random person. There’s that common denominator that connects you to everyone.
